The Light Display is On!!!

Yes, it’s that time of year again and the Community Christmas Light Display at Ouabache Trails Park is one once again!

Come out and share the Christmas spirit with us at the annual display of lights. We’ve got many new fixtures this year and are excited to share them with our community.

The show runs nightly through December 26 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. There’s no cost of admission but donations are always appreciated and will all go toward buying new lights and keeping the ones we have burning bright.

We hope to see you out at the show!

If you have a vehicle you’d like to show, please come out, we’ll be giving away gift certificates for stays in our cabins to the winners of each category of vehicle. We’re looking for classic cars of any variety, customized motorcycles and tricked-out golf carts.

Fox Ridge park map

We’ve added a jpg and pdf version of the boundary lines of the new Fox Ridge Nature Park. Please take a moment to look them over so we can avoid, to the extent that we can, any trespassing or confusion about what property belongs to the county and where private property begins. You can find both versions on the Knox County Parks page tab. Here’s a direct link.

Thanks and we hope you’ll visit the new park soon!

We’ve got some requisites to get out of the way for our meeting this month. Bear with us…

“Because of the Memorial Day holiday on May 25,, the Knox County Parks and Recreation Board will hold its regular meeting on May 18 at 6:00 p.m. in the nature center at Ouabache Trails Park, 3500 N Lower Ft. Knox Rd.

A message on our new property, Fox Ridge Nature Park

We know the word has been getting out that the Fox Ridge property now officially belongs to the Knox County Parks Department, but there are a few things we need to make sure everyone understands as we’ve been having some trouble.

1. The pond near the Fox Ridge subdivision is private property and is marked as such. Please don’t trespass there.

2. Although we don’t have signage up yet, motorized vehicles are not allowed anywhere on the property. That includes any small ATV’s. Please park in the parking lot and do not drive up onto the property anywhere.

We’re glad the property is seeing use, but please be mindful of a few things while we get our signage ready. We want to be good neighbors to the folks that live nearby so help us keep their good will.

Thanks to all,

The Knox County Parks and Recreation staff
